Guild hall
In city area, there is a guild hall.
It is very beautiful.
I cannot compare this to Japanese ordinaly guild hall.
シティと言われるエリアにはギルドホールがあります。
非常に美しいです。
日本の商工会議所とは比べ物になりません。
Poirot
Do you know one of the most famouse decetive called Poirot?
He is a charctor in story of Agatha Cristie.
The stories become TV program and there is a house used as Poirot's in London.
In TV, it looks the house located very center of london or at least face to busy street.
Though actual building stands very quiet area.
It is smaller than I expected but of course completely same as TV.
This building is still used as a mansion and people lives in there.
世界で最も有名な探偵の一人、ポワロ氏をご存知でしょうか？
アガサ・クリスティの小説の登場人物です。
ポワロシリーズはTV化されたのですが、そこでポワロの家とされた家がロンドンにあります。
TVではロンドンの街中か、少なくとも大きな通りに面していると見える家ですが
実際には静かなところにあります。
想像よりは小さかったですが、当然、TVとまったく同じものでした。
ちなみに、今でも普通に人が住んでいます。
I took a double decker for tourist to looking around the city.
Since it was open-top, the view was great but it was so cold after it got dark.
観光客用の2階建てバスに乗って町を回ってみました。
オープントップなので景色は見やすいのですが、日が落ちてからは寒かったです。

Palace of Holyroodhouse
There are some famouse place in Edinburgh.
Edinburgh Castle, St. Jiles, Scots monument, Holyrood Palace and so on.
On second and last day in Edinburgh, We went to St.Jiles(no photo, sorry).
Then walk down royal mile in freezing but sunny weather to Palace of Holyroodhouse.
It is a Palace used in summer time by the Queen.
エディンバラにはいくつか見どころがあります。
エディンバラ城、セント・ジャイルス大聖堂、スコッツ・モニュメント、ホリルード宮殿などなど。
2日目にしてエディンバラ最終日に、我々はとりあえずセント・ジャイルスに行きました。
写真は許可を取らないといけなかったので、撮ってません。
その後、晴れてはいるものの寒い中、ロイヤルマイルを歩いて下りホリルード宮殿へ行ってきました。
この宮殿は夏の間の女王陛下の別荘として使用されているところです。
Scotland
On this weekend, we visited Edinburgh the capital city of Scotland.
I had been there 10 years before for language study.
It has been so long since last time though old city has not been changed much.
スコットランドの首都、エディンバラへ行ってきました。
10年前に語学留学で行ったことがあるところです。
それからずいぶん経ちましたが、オールドシティ（旧市街）はあまり変わっていませんでした。

We went to Edinburgh Castle.
I think this castle is masculine. I like this hard and practical style.
エディンバラ城へ行きました。
非常に男性的なイメージのお城です。質実剛健スタイルがいいと思います。
By the way, there are bunches of those crest in the castle or whole historic part of UK.
ところでお城というかイギリスの歴史的な建築物などにはてんこ盛りに紋章が飾られています。
I found some of them are embroidered.
All of sudden, they become very very cute!
エディンバラ城では刺繍されているものを発見しました。
突如、超かわいくなってます。アニメキャラっぽい。
After the castle, we visted scotch wiskey museum.
It is located almost next to Edinburgh Castle.
You can learn how scotch are made and also taste some of them.
There are big collection there though they are not for sale or taste.
お城の次に、スコッチウィスキーの博物館のようなところに行きました。
お城のすぐ隣くらいにあります。
ここではスコッチの作り方の説明を聞いたり、試飲したりできます。
素晴らしいスコッチコレクションもありますが、こちらは観賞専用です。
The world's end is a pub on royal mile.
Royal mile is one of main streets of Edinburgh which leads Edinbugh Castle to Palace.
It is a memorial place of my young days...
Happy to say, it still there and I could enjoy haggis.
ロイヤルマイルにWorld's Endというパブがあります。
ロイヤルマイルというのはエディンバラのメインストリートの一つで、エディンバラ城から宮殿までを繋いでいます。
そのパブは思い出の地であったわけですが、うれしいことにまだありました。
ハギス（スコットランドの名物料理）を食べてきました。
