Windermere
We visted Lake District this weekend.
From London Euston Station, It took around 3 hours to get to Windermere Station by Train.
Windermere is the last terminal station of lake district line.
After got off train, we had to continue our journey on foot since the station is 30 minutes far from nearest lake; windermere.
We go through windermere town and public foot path.
今週末は湖水地方へ行ってきました。
ロンドン・ユーストン駅からウィンダミア駅までは電車で3時間の旅です。
ウィンダミアは湖水線の終着駅です。
その後、徒歩での移動になります。
なぜならば。ウィンダミア駅は最寄りの湖（ウィンダミア湖）から徒歩で30分ほど離れているのです。
ウィンダミアの街とパブリックフットパスという遊歩道を抜けて行きました。
The foot path started as if it is a private path between local houses.
フットパスは地元の家の間の私道みたいに始まっています。
But it brought us to great nature soon.
しかし、すぐに大自然の中へ・・・。
It a little bit looked like path in Hakone.
ちょっと箱根っぽい。
Then we arrived at Bowness on windermere town.
I heard that windermere did not exist untill the railway was built.
When a plan to build a railway to there, people living in bowness town, which has been central town in the area, thought trains would bring a lot of tourist.
So they decided to build a town around the city and connect it to bowness in order to bring them to Bowness.
Bowness on windermere is the old bowness town.
It has old church faced lake Windermere.
Since the day we arrived at was lovely fine day, there was so many tourist out there.
Too much.
30分ほど歩いてボウネス・オン・ウィンダミアという町に到着しました。
聞いたところによると、ウィンダミアという町は鉄道が敷かれるまで存在しなかったそうです。
もともとその辺のエリアの中心地であったボウネスの人々が鉄道計画を聞いて、これは観光客がくるチャンスだと思って駅からボウネスを繋ぐようにウィンダミアという町を作ったのだそうです。
ボウネス・オン・ウィンダミアはつまり旧ボウネスで、湖に面した古い教会もあります。
我々が到着した日は、非常によい天気だったせいか人がたくさんいました。
居すぎた、というか。
We again walked to our accomodation.
We wanted to use a taxi, though we cannot find one.
It was a good walking indded...
The place we stayed was Lindeth Fell Country House Hotel.
It was very good hotel. We had dinner and breakfast. And both are quite good.(This is very important point!)
Though the best point of the hotel should be the view.
We could look down windermer lake from garden.
そこから更に歩いてホテルへ。
タクシーを使いたかったのですが、つかまらず。
結構いい運動になりました。
泊まったのはLindeth Fell Country House Hotelというところです。
非常に良いホテルでした。夕食、朝食ともに取りましたが美味しかったし。
それにしても、このホテルの一番いいところは景色です。
ウィンダミア湖を庭から見降ろせます。
The last place we visited the day was Blackwell house.
The house was build and decorated based on thought of Arts&Crafts.
It was a pitty that no photo was allowed in the house.
It was marvelous.
この日、最後に訪れたのはブラックウェル館というところです。
これはアート＆クラフト運動の思想に基づいて作られたお家です。
とても素敵な家でした。
写真が撮れなかったのが非常に残念です。
